This ginormous hole seems like a scene from some low-budget “End of World Movie”, where a whole town is about to be sucked into an endless abyss. However I can assure you this amazing and surreal looking picture is not something generated on a computer. What you are looking at is an enormous diamond mine in Mirna, Siberia. It measures 525 m deep and 1.25 km in diameter, making it the biggest man-made hole in the world. The suction from the hole is so powerful that helicopters flying over it have crashed. Pretty bizarre huh?
